Abstract
(English)
The disruption of the morphology of the relief and of the natural hydrogeomorphological processes which are a result of road works, usually lead to the creation of new balance conditions of the artificially formed slopes at either sides of the road works, as well as to new hydro-geomorphological processes. In certain cases and especially during unfavorable geological - geomorphological conditions, this reforming of the relief is in a position to lead to intense erosion phenomena at the excavation slopes as well as to landslides phenomena such as in the case of the slope of the trench in the area of Agios Konstantinos. This study, records and evaluates the impact to the environment and especially the changes to the geomorphological conditions with an emphasis to the landslides phenomena caused by the construction of the New National Road Athens - Lamia and the excavation of the trench in the area of Agios Konstantinos.
