Abstract
(English)
We derive the general expression for the elastic force acting on a nematic point defect from a dissipation principle suited for nematodynamics. We compute the elastic force acting on a point defect in a capillary tube, by using a model field to describe the director around the defect. The drift of a single defect prompted in a capillary tube by some tilted boundary conditions is also studied numerically, and some possible artefacts common to this and other methods are clearly identified.
