Abstract
(English)
This note deals with a one-dimensional initial-boundary value problem related to the Fremond thermomechanical model of structural phase transitions in shape memory materials. A semi-implicit time-discretization with variable step of the problem is discussed and an a priori estimate for the discretization error is recovered. The latter shows an optimal order of convergence, depends solely on data and imposes no constraints between consecutive time steps.
