Abstract
(English)
The paper deals with the numerical treatment of the direct frequency domain analysis of linear mechanical systems; attention is mainly focused on the solution of the complex system of equations needed for each analyzed frequency. Strategies for simultaneously solving the complex system for a large number of frequencies are investigated, based upon Krylov subspace iterative solvers such as GMRES and QMR. Examples are given regarding civil engineering typical dynamic problems, with particular interest into soil-structure systems.
